Lion's Gate Part 3: It Is Time

“The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises.

The wind blows to the south and goes around to the north; around and around goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns”

(Ecclesiastes 1:5-6)

Consciousness is that which foremostly defines a world age. As we have seen, the Sun expresses the passage of time, and so the Eon, and, rightfully, is a symbol of consciousness. The Sun is also traditionally thought of as an eye, another symbol of consciousness. The third eye, specifically, is the eye of consciousness, thus recalling the triplicity so inherent in this mystery, such as the fact that we understand time as existing in three forms, those being: past, present and future. The story being told here is one of the transformation, indeed, exaltation, of Consciousness.

This, as enlightenment, is often depicted as what is called a "halo". This can be interpreted as the Sun or Saturn's rings, and so, again, the wheel, representing this subtle body emanation.

"Chakravartin", a Sanskrit term meaning "wheel turner" or "lord of the wheel", is typically used to refer to great rulers of the state, who were then often mythologized. This title is also useful in referring to deities of a certain archetypal strain. Buddha, as an example, is the turner of the wheel of Dharma.

Jupiter, let us recall, is the Lord of The Wheel, as Atu 10 (or 'X', the cross) has shown. Not always, though...

Jupiter is the son of Saturn. As Kronos, father time or death, Saturn is the original "Wheel Turner" of this tradition.

As the myth goes, Saturn learns in advance that he is destined to be succeeded by one of his children. Dissatisfied with this news, he takes to devouring them one by one. Rhea, the mother, manages to rescue one child, this being Jupiter. Eventually, Jupiter is able to confront Saturn, he defeats and usurps him, thus fulfilling the prophecy and initiating a new time-cycle phase. And the wheel turns...

Saturn as planet, with its rings, repeats the circle-dot formation of the sun glyph, or wheel. Astrologically, Saturn and Jupiter are seen as perfectly opposing each other, just as in the myth. Saturn is constrictive, heralding death, Jupiter is expansive, promoting growth. Both are highly transformative and, naturally, bleed into each other. This is a dualistic representation of the affective "Guna" principles.

Simhamukha, the lion-faced Dakini

The Buddhist tradition, then, bestows the burning image of the Dakini, as adopted from the school of Tantrism. In Tibetan Buddhism the Dakini is Dharma, the Wheel. She is the beautiful, if wrathful, protectress dancer that is Dharma personified.

It would seem that this tradition developed from the Hindu goddess Kali. The relationship here is clear. In fact, Kali is known as "The Lord of Time and Change". She dances the universe in and out of existence. This is, undoubtedly, the Great Wheel. Further, she is one of four great world ages of the Hindu tradition. The Kali Yuga, the age of dissolution which precedes rebirth. Same lesson, different mask.

Another example of the great "Chakravartin" is Mithras as "Aeon". He is the ruler of the world age. As world age doctrine is invariably precessional, Aeon is the turner of the Zodiacal wheel, the wheel of time.

Chinese Zodiac

Note the globe he stands on, overlaid with cross.

Unsurprisingly, there is a Mithraic lion-headed god that expresses exactly this. Once again we have a lion (or more accurately a sphinx, or man-lion hybrid) guarding or controlling the wheel.

Another obvious permutation of this archetype is Christ. Christ is the Son, or Sun, the hub of the Zodiacal wheel. And Christ, of course, is also a lion.

"Weep not; lo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals."

Strangely, when Christ is not playing the Sun, the center, he takes excursions to the rim as the

fish, or Pisces.

This brings us full circle, back to Saturn. Atu 13 "Death", is attributed to the Hebrew letter "Nun",

which means "fish". Ironically, the fish is a symbol of life. This is actually hardly ironic as, if we have learned anything from this investigation, death is naught but transformation, naught but rebirth. Remember, the primary function of Christ the fish is resurrection. We have arrived at the cross.

Christ reveals to us, in the cross-hairs, so to speak, his Heart, Center, Sun. The cross is the Sun, the cross is Time. The Cross is the Wheel.

The cross represents union. We bring our hands together, at our hearts, in prayer. We connect with our center through the Anjali Mudra, uniting our Yin and Yang, Shiva/Shakti, et alia.

Galactic Cross

Mayan cosmology, unsurprisingly, repeats the pattern. Their cross is that of the Milky Way and Ecliptic, the same as Mithras'. At the center? The December Solstice Sun. It is seen as a sexual union between the Sun Father, the preeminent Izapan/Mayan "sky mover", and the Galactic Center Mother. This is the insemination of the New World Age, wrought by nothing less than the alignment of great centers, of immense wheels.

This reveals a very important message: all centers are the same center. The Universe as a whole is justifiably symbolized by the familiar "wheel" glyph. The Sun and the Universe are the same, different only in their location on the fractal.

Ah, the Sun. The approaching Eon. It would seem that humanity has spent the last two millenia in anticipation of it.

Now it blooms like a flower. The Star refracts into a rainbow, the Chakra Lotus opens wide to take it in.

Lion's Gate Part 2: Rebirth Compass

The Oroborus is a symbol, depicting a snake eating its own tail, that represents the idea of infinity, or more specifically, recurring cycles. This is appropriately attributed to time.

Note that the Oroborus illustrates this idea in terms of singularity. As duality we usually receive the "Yin-Yang" or the likes, and as triplicity, a variety of triangular schemas. These are all wheels.

The Sun, as wheel, incorporates each of these phases. It is inherently "triple". Naturally, then, the traditional number of the Sun is 111, that is, 3.

Three Jewels

The three Buddhist gems, in sequence, are: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. They represent the Buddha, his teachings, and the Buddhist community, respectively. In comparing the Buddhist Gems with the three Gunas one should notice that there is corroboration of form, but not of content. One can sensibly attribute this to the radical shift in thought from Hinduism into Buddhism. Let us acknowledge that the conceptual format was borrowed from Hinduism and adapted to Buddhist thought. However, upon close inspection, we find that the original concept is preserved. The second of the three gems, "Dharma" (the one in the middle), is variously defined as "Buddha's teachings", "what is there", or "how things are". Though vague, the last description in particular fits soundly, as we are, indeed, investigating "how things are". In any event, Dharma is invariably a wheel, that is, "Dharmachakra".

The dharmachakra mudra occurs at ones core, and this justifies another look at the taro's "The Chariot".

There is another related mudra, the "Gyan" mudra. This represents the thesis perfectly. The thumb and index finger touch to create the wheel while the other three fingers represent the gems or gunas.

There is another charming "wheel" tradition in Buddhism, that being the "prayer wheel".

These wheels take many forms. Prayers, protectors or other symbols are printed on or encased within the construction, and spinning it is likened to prayer recitation. It is said that spinning the wheel benefits all beings in the same way recitation would.

Delightful.

This brings to mind yet another Buddhist tradition, the "prayer flag". The sympathetic relationship to the rainbow is clear.

On the topic of rainbows, we are, naturally, brought again to wheels. "Chakra" is Sanskrit for wheel. The human spiritual anatomy is said to be comprised of seven major energy centers, or "chakras". Seven rotating wheels or centers of energy, one for each color of the rainbow, including (usually) white. Appropriately, each chakra is said to consist of the three gunas, each in varying proportion depending on its level, a kind of spinal hierarchy. This means the first three chakras would be more in the realm of "Tamas", or matter and physicality. The highest three chakras would consist mostly of "Rajas", that is spirit, energy, and activity. And, of course, in the center we have the heart, the union or balance of that which is above and that which is below: "Sattvas"- balance, harmony, lucidity.

Now that we have thoroughly explored the wheel as representative of temporal dynamics, we can take a look at its spatial implications.

A compass is a device that orients its possessor to the cardinal directions. Notice how compasses are typically designed with a solar esthetic. This allows us to address yet another Hindu/Buddhist, and indeed universal and ancient symbol; the "Swastika".

Not only is the swastika thought of as a solar symbol, but its four arms are said to represent the cardinal directions. It is also obvious how it permutates into the "solar wheel" or even the plain cross. Moreover, the swastika is explicitly a wheel with its clockwise/counter-clockwise motion of evolution and involution.

Through the compass, the chariot returns to our conversation as the "Chayot", or four creatures, this time as the Buddhist "Four Dignities". These animals symbolize the cardinal directions, of course.

Four Dignities

Looking back at the prayer flags we can observe that an integral motif is a collection of these five creatures. Four of them at the perimeter, with the fifth standing at the center. They are "Dragon", "Eagle", "Tiger", and "Snow Lion", and the fifth and central being what is called the "Wind Horse".

Mongolian Coat of Arms

The Wind Horse, like the Sun, symbolizes the Soul. It is the catalyst that allows the prayer flags to function. It is said that the Wind Horse as the wind, carries these mantras across the landscape, purifying all it encounters. Indeed, traditionally, prayer flags are often simply called "Wind Horse". It certainly shouldn't surprise us, then, to learn that our Wind Horse fore-mostly bears the Triple Gem.

Thus we have the (wind) horse-drawn chariot in the center, as the Soul and Sun, emanating radially through all Time and Space.

Lion's Gate Part 1: Star Wheel

Hindu Wheel of Life and Death

Intro:

The lion is a creature that has always been admired and revered. It is a symbol of strength, royalty, victory, and power. It is associated with the sun, christ, the cross, various alchemical phases and processes, and is known as "the king of the jungle".

In Egypt Sphinxes (lions) were guardians at the entrance of temples. One faced east while the other faced west. This brings to mind Janus, the roman god with two opposed faces. This is how he was said to see into both the future and the past. Significantly he is the god of doorways and gateways. He also rules over beginnings and endings...

"The Wheel of Fortune", as it is sometimes called, is an old and complex symbol. It is included among the collection of archetypes found in the taro (note the involvement of the taro, as the taro as a whole is itself a great wheel, "Rota"). It is Atu #10 and is the path that connects Chesed and Netzach on the Kabbalic Tree of Life. Notice now that this path is ruled by Jupiter and that Netzach is also called "Victory" (remembering lion symbology).

Taking a closer look at the taro's illustration, specifically that of Crowley's Thoth deck, we see a variety of elements involved here. We see three players directly engaged with the wheel. These are the "Sphinx", "Hermanubis", and "Typhon". They correspond to the alchemical "Tria Prima", or sulphur, mercury, and salt. They represent most basically "balanced calm", "energetic activity", and "inertia, death" respectively.

We find the same three-fold concept in eastern thought with the three gunas: "Sattvas", "Rajas", and "Tamas".

These concepts illustrate the dynamic of manifestation through time, or more simply, "motion". All things are subject to the succession of the phases articulated in this symbol. All objects and events, or "space-time phenomena", exert influence on all others. All things in this way are bound to each other.

While this happens "non-locally" in a very absolute kind of way, it is also modified and modulated via "local" mechanisms.

In astrology for example, a celestial object is said to exert influence on Earthly affairs. Depending, though, on its relationship to other players (planets, constellations, so forth). In a Zodiacal context we see that a certain "sign" is exercising a significant affect only when modulated or "filtered" through our sun. Thus we can see how motion, that is, the very function of a wheel, determines relationships, and therefor phases (think Gunas or Tria Prima) of all phenomena.

Zodiac Wheel

Proceeding, give the three-fold aspect due notice. The Triad is a vast archetypal symbol. As stated, we are currently focusing on the Triad in terms of phases or motion. Remember, it is a wheel.

If we look at one astoundingly ubiquitous symbol, the "Recycle" logo, we see the pattern confirmed. A three part wheel emphasizing "recycle" or "rebirth". Let us recall Janus for a moment, the god of new beginnings. Now, look closely at this symbol. At its center or "hub" there is something wholly profound and relevant: a hexagram.

The hexagram symbolizes many things, though most pertinent to this essay is its association with "union", or center, which is exactly where we find it.

Certainly the "Center" is of paramount importance and relevance to the concept of the wheel. Indeed, for a wheel is not, without an axle.

Scaling fractally here, we return to the sun. The sun is the center or axle/axis of our solar system. Relating this to time cycles, days and years, both solar phenomena, are our primary method of tracking time. In terms of phases, we can clearly see it in the progression of day into night or the changing of seasons.

Looking at the symbol for sun, we can clearly see a wheel. As Jake at "The Blob" has pointed out, a delightful representation of this is found in the clock. A circle dot, with wheel emulating motion, the very function of which is to track time.

Another symbol for the sun is the "solar wheel". A rather overt connection here. Why solar wheel? An inspection reveals a long tradition of mythologizing the daily movement of the sun as that of a chariot.

Atu #7, "The Chariot", now enters the investigation. Here we see the wheels in motion. Special attention should be paid to the one in the center, of course.

Recalling the hexagram we found earlier, we can take a shot at tying a few things together here.

The hexagram, or more specifically, two interlocking tetrahedra, have been recognized as "Merkabah". The merkabah first appears on the stage in the Book of Ezekiel as "wheels within wheels" or the chariot throne of God. Also, the chariot or "Chayot" is driven by the four beasts; man, lion, ox, and eagle, which also happens to be depicted in the taro card illustration. Interestingly, in this image the four creatures are "sphinxed".

Another consideration linking these two images is that Jupiter rules Atu #10 "Fortune", and is also exalted in Cancer (8 legs), the ruling sign of Atu #7, "The Chariot". The Rainbow heralds Jupiter and is, of course, itself a wheel, one absolutely dependent on the sun. Again, a quick thank you to Jake and Jim, who revealed the Jupiter rainbow connection.

Taking a general look at the Tree of Life we see that there is actually a singular representation os the sun, Sephirot 6, Tiphareth. Tiphareth is considered to be the heart of the tree, clearly as it is dead center.

Then the heart, of course, is the Center closest to home, located at the Solar Plexus.

Consulting the Tibetan flag, we get a pretty well rounded image of the ideas we have been dealing with. Snow lions guard the wheel which yields access to the three gems. In the center we have the sun who oversees the three buddhist gems, which we can equate to the Gunas.

So where is this going?

Any Thing or Event is nothing less than a nexus point within the vast and awesome matrix that is What Is. This nexus is a "standing wave form" (hologram) caused by the interference, or combination, of the forces, influences, archetypes, et alia of the multiverse.

Indra's Net

The "Cornucopia", or "Horn of Plenty", is a vast and manifold symbol. It is often simply referred to as symbolizing plenitude or prosperity, and more so, life and fertility. This is further illustrated by the rather obvious likeness it has to both the male and female genitalia. Indeed, it is erupting with life.

The occultist Austin Osman Spare channeled a magickal formula, from what he describes as a "Delphic Oracle" or "Pythoness", which consists of constructing an "earthenware (clay) virgin" to the dimensions of his erect penis, for the purpose of auto-erotic magickal workings. This is regarded as a highly effective method to manifest "the abundance of one's wishes". This appears to be a fairly ancient technique, as research has yielded ancient Greek paintings of men with overflowing Cornucopias adorning their genitals.

The origin of this symbol is nestled within the drinking horn. The auroch, a large grazing cattle, now extinct (circa 17th century), grew massive horns (6 feet on average) which were favorites for adaption into drinking horns. Two Nazi geneticists, under the direction of Adolf Hitler, attempted to resurrect this legendary beast. Brothers Heinz and Lutz Heck, through thier method of "back breeding" produced the "Heck Cattle", a facsimile of the original auroch at best.

Heck Cattle

Another creature whose horn was sought after for use as a drinking vessel was the Unicorn. Prized above all was its rumored ability to neutralize poison. Let us note one other drinking vessel with similar magickal qualities, that being the Holy Grail, another vaginal symbol, which bestows immortality.

Interestingly, we find that another single (prominent) horned animal, the rhino, is said to have its' horn change colors in the presence of alkaloids. ...During the Middle Ages the vast majority of poisons were made with alkaloids. Also, the Unicorn and the auroch are likened, naturally, to the rhino.

The earliest references of the Unicorn describe it as a billy goat, and this is readily validated when we learn of the mythical story of the upbringing of adolescent Zeus by goddess Amalthea. Amalthea is thought of as a nurturing goddess, her name means 'tender goddess'. She is described as a goat (less often as tending goats), she is the constellation Capricorn. It is her skin, in fact, by which the Aegis was fashioned. Regardless, the story typically goes to describe Zeus breaking off one of Amalthea's horns during play, thus transforming her into a Unicorn. Greatly apologetic, Zeus proceeds to return the horn to Amalthea, but not before imbuing it with the power to grant the possessor their every wish. Sound familiar? This is, of course, the Cornucopia, the earthenware virgin.

The Unicorn is often depicted resting its head on a virgin's lap. It is said that only a virgin could tame this magickal creature.

Maiden and Unicorn

The combination of virgin and Unicorn is said to represent chastity, but is also claimed as an allegorical depiction of "The Incarnation" or "The Immaculate Conception", wherein God manifest as Christ in the womb of the Virgin Mary.

Madonna and Child

Adolf Hitler (whose subordinates were directed to resurrect the auroch) was said to be quite obsessed with the spear that penetrated Christ, known as, among many other names, "The Spear of Destiny". It is also supposed that he was in possession of this artifact at one point in time. As the Unicorn has proven to represent Christ we must take note of the famous Gothic European tapestry series "The Hunt of The Unicorn" . In these tapestries we can see the Unicorn being hunted with spears. In most interpretations the Unicorn is actually slain. Meaning, as seen in the last panel, it has been curiously "resurrected". In this panel it is shown fenced in and chained to a pomegranate tree. The pomegranate being another symbol of "fruitfulness" and also reappearing in the Sandro Botticelli painting "Madonna of the Pomegranate".

An inspection of the Crucifixion reveals that, after being penetrated by Longinus, blood and water gushed forth from Christ's wound. This represents none other than the Eucharist, the Eucharist symbolizing, aside from the blood and flesh sacrament of Jesus; life.

The captive Unicorn

Symbolically, we have the Unicorn-bound Spear of Destiny piercing the Unicorn-bound Jesus Christ, resulting in a Cornucopic event. Another baffling instance of the Mythic feedback loop.

We may also note here that the "proto-Christ" Dionysus is rather often equipped with his drinking horn/Cornucopia.

Both the Spear of Destiny and the Cornucopia icon have been referred to as the "Antichrist" by Christians.

In a great many painting and tapestry, the Maiden is flanked by a Lion, always to her right, and a Unicorn, always to her left. Also, in heraldry, the pairing of a Lion and Unicorn as "supporters" is an extremely common motif, the meaning of which has been interpreted as an assortment of things. Curious to note that both the Lion and Unicorn are symbols of Christ.

The United Kingdom Coat of Arms

Note this as an image of the highlighted subtle body:

both creatures planted firmly on the ground,

the shield illustrating the Core; the Heart,

and the Crown likewise.

The role of these creatures can then be identified as Nadis Ida and Pingala.

Now, both Christ and Amalthea are the Unicorn, a Goat or Lamb, and both, also, the Aegis.

Let us activate the Nexus of Plenty. Reach down into the Grail and bury your treasure. Plant your seeds generously that they may bear the fruit of life.

We KEY our magical gift box. The ark bursts open with emanations gushing forth from a brilliant pulsing ruby. The chest holds the heart.

This is center, the binding core which yields balance.

Here Fire Shiva courts with Water Shakti. At the heart of the hexagram is the hexagon-box, thus cross. The three dimensional cube manifests four dimensionally as hypercube. We see the progression of square (diamond) to cube to (Metatron's) hypercube. This all unfolds in the Heart.

Merkabah, the vehicle of ascension.

Merkabah is the hebrew (Egyptian) "chariot throne of God". This entity is a composite of the four creatures, the chayot.

Merkabah also refers to interlocking tetrahedron. This is an energetic construct projected from your body, centered in the heart.

UFO

Where do we find this treasure box? The X-cross marks the spot. The Heart is our Center.

As such, so the Stars. The stars, like the heart and all else, are objects and events of powerful emission.

Her life giving bosom

Undulating serpent waves blow forth and bathes all in awesome oscillations.

Again, our target is the Center.

Viewed tonally, we receive the sine or spine column/staff.

The heart chakra, a beautiful green rose, flowering.

Mer- light, ka- spirit, bah- body. Star tetrahedron chariot.

The diamond hard shield, that emanates from the heart, centers a powerful junction.

Lingam and yoni. Yang and Yin. The sword pierces the heart. The lovers embrace.

The coupled lingam and yoni, or Shiva and Shakti, union of opposing forces, activating the chariot. Fractally, this chariot then yields yet another lingam, the one which passes through the dimensional gate.

Dimensionally, our world can be described as a four dimensional object passing through a three dimensional plane, or "Time". In the "time" it takes for this chariot to pass through its gate, we live this life. Are we, collectively, reaching that consummating juncture? We can now acknowledge birth and death as the same.

The Tau Cross is the sign for Time.

In conjunction with birth heralding Cat Eye- Ru, we have life.

Mirror, mirror

The baby-child is emerging from the liminal plane. We are marching through the gate.

Sheela Na Gig

We are being swallowed by the mouth. We are re-assimilated through the very portal that birthed us.

She who gives the milk consumes the blood.

Dragon Aspect

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

-Revelations

The consort of the Divine Feminine is the Serpent. As such, She is the Serpent. The mighty depiction of this creature is the Dragon.

Her throne is the Manifest. This is one side of the Coin that is center and all. She is the fire-breathing/world-emitting beast. She spews the world in viral swirls.

In the christian mythos, The Virgin Mary, as the apocalyptic woman, is 'The Great Red Dragon', or Woman demonized as Satan. One finds numerous extant examples of archetypal characters combating their various other aspects or incarnations. And isn't this appropriate as the great manifold coitus-battle swarm we call life is ultimately one thing acting out a dual dance.

As Eve in Eden, she banishes her dream-like naivete through the wisdom of the snake. She is initiated into the heavy world.

Lilith

The apparent infrastructure of our realm, or 'Space', is defined by spatial axes: height, width, length. Abstracted this can be represented two dimensionally as a square/diamond or hexagram, and three dimensionally as a cube or box. As axes these are sometimes depicted as intersecting dragons, and thus termed the "Dragon Axis". As the dragon axis represents a center in this way, we can observe the 'Kundalini' model as a working analog. Naturally, the Kundalini is thought of as a serpent(s) coiled around the length of the spine.

The Caduceus is one symbol for this vertical core-axis. The dual-nature intertwined serpents illustrate the one-acting-as-many motif. These serpents then neutralize each other, they are the product of the mirror element of nature.

The Aegis shield, in Greek mythology, initially wielded by our Woman as Athena (or sometimes Zeus) is employed to defeat her serpent-aspect self as Gorgon Medusa (some even claim "Medusa" was the original wielder of the Aegis). The power of the Gorgon was to petrify any creature who looked into her eyes. The Aegis shield possesses the particular quality of being so highly polished so as to function also as a mirror. Perseus, the hero of this particular tale, receives the Aegis shield and cleverly uses it to 'reflect' the Gorgon's curse on to Medusa herself. Victorious, our hero Perseus flies away on his winged steed to repeat an essentially identical feat. Andromeda, our damsel in distress, has been chained to a rock, awaiting assimilation by a serpentine sea-monster/dragon. Perseus arrives in time and slays the beast.

As we have seen, there is a curious trend of the male hero rescuing a woman from her "terrible" (demonized) aspect. This is reminiscent of so many stories of the (white) knight rescuing the maiden from the (usually red) dragon...

Apparently, the "Aegis" was not originally a shield, but a bag or sheath for a shield, or sometimes even described as a mantle or cape. This garment was made of bovid hide (goatskin). The Aegis as sheath/mantle possesses, in terms of resonance, a mirror or reflective quality. It also resonates the bag/sack/box.

Continuing, let us note that an etymological analysis of the word 'dragon' reveals a reference to "seeing clearly" or "to see clearly". Some offer the image of "shiny scales" as an explanation of this. Relating to the aforementioned 'mirror' illusion aspect of our reality, this would seem to infer a kind of counteraction or correction. We are no longer in a maze of mirrors, we no longer see double. We are not dizzied and petrified (horrified) by the of act looking into Her eyes, into the infinite fractal rabbit-hole. We are not blinded by "Mother Unveiled", Nudas Veritas. No longer fearing being devoured, we embrace our birth and banish the "Vagina Dentata". As in the caduceus, the serpent reveals the dual as illusion.

The word 'apocalypse' means revealing or unveiling.

And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

In reading The Book of Revelations we can observe that the "woman clothed with the sun" and "the great red dragon" are introduced in practically the same sentence. Further reading introduces the (white) sheep, the creature wielding the power to open the book (cuboid) and thus combat the (red) dragon. And the sheep here is, of course, Christ, the (male) hero, or "everyman".

The sheep is the Aegis.

Note that Christ on the cross also incarnates as snake.

The protagonist, fearing re-assimilation, demonizes Woman (his manifest reality), and then attempting to destroy her, finds himself in a maelstrom of shattered glass.

Seven

We aim the mirror-Aegis at the Dragon-Woman and we see her as stone.

Our mirror-shield has revealed demonized woman, queen of a heavy, dreadful, stone-like reality, as an illusion, a distorted reflection. We become aware of the ultimate non-reality of reality. This image of the terrible and ferocious woman-as-manifest-reality has been defeated, redeeming the pure and beautiful maiden.

Returning to the caduceus, a symbol of, among many things, the Kundalini or subtle body, we recognize the serpents as the nadis 'ida' and 'pingala'. Ida, the left or "sinister", colored red, the feminine. Pingala, the "right" or dexter, colored white, the masculine. Let us synthesize the two (that are already one), shatter the mirror, and evoke the Aegis Dragon to help us, finally, see clearly.

Mystery Box

All things, by virtue of their very existence, emit and absorb 'their' essence. An object or event is a nexus point of transmutation. The stuff of our world; call it Kia, call it Tao, call it Mana, call it Ether, call it All, call it Nothing. Of this can be said: motion. All is moving, all is doing, all is being.

All things affect/effect, and are affected/effected by, all other things.

An object or event, an item, is defined non-locally by all things. An item is defined locally by things it is similar or related to, or things it is proximal to. This is termed "resonance".

An item, then, is, what it is emitting, absorbing, resonating.

This lends to classification of sorts and provokes concepts such as 'archetype', 'metaphor', 'symbol'. These classification items appear to be arrayed in holographic or fractal form.

We ooze.

Thus, reader, let us recognize metaphor, analogy, and symbol not as 'pseudo', 'quasi', or unreal but, as being quite real, in fact identical to that which it evokes, being different only in its' location on the spiral.

The 'Ark' is a mytho-historical object, a box, said to contain... well, said to contain something. Something divine. Its' actual contents have been said to be anything form sacred texts to sacred remains, magic objects to magic mushrooms. Or perhaps the significance to this curious container is not exactly what it holds but, rather that what it holds is a mystery.

We are all seeking that chest of treasures with riches untold. X marks the spot.

Sometimes we aren't seeking.

The Universe bestows a gift.

What's in the box?

It's the metaphysical whatsit.

It's McKenna's transcendental object at the end of time.

It is extra-dimensional.

Like Shrodinger's cat, it is everything and nothing.

Until we open the box we can't know what's inside. As our feline friend evokes our current science, our 'present' window to/from the course we sail down these fractal arms, it seems that the very act of peering inside seals our fate. What was once anything is now something. For curious cats, the activity of spying in on the workings of what-is, determines, crystalizes, the potentially all into the definitively one.

Every broken seal births one anew. Every moment is a prying open of reality, a manifestation of the 'spirit' into 'matter'.

Every decision we make, every encounter with Pandora's Box, seals our fate and summons hope.

Where is our treasure, the jewel of the manifest world? We have followed the map to the X-cross and found ourselves inside the box, the space-cube.

The 'box' incarnated as Anima Ultima, Great Mother/Mistress, embodies this coming into manifest reality. There she is, suspended on the cross, hiding in the box. And who is the mother but the son, so here we are. Peek-a-boo!

The box contains all. This marvelous game we play. Blindfolded, we reach into the holographic grab bag of All and behold it in miniature. One object at a time, each with its very own unique location on the spiral, reflecting all else.

So with our Aegis-shield, or centered heart, we reflect the dragon aspect of our Lady in the tower.

And we do, in fact, see clearly.

The Heart.

Center as form.

The heart pulses, as does all...

This Mithraic entity possesses the Dorje, depicted as clutched to, or hovering at, the solar plexus. Dorje is said to mean, simultaneously, both lightning bolt and diamond. The dorje also symbolizes union of opposites, or the realization of non-duality, and resonates the interlocking triangles/tetrahedron, or simply, the hexagram.

In Egyptian mythology, the concretization, immortalization, of the soul, is the adamantization of the soul. The soul becomes diamond. One becomes superman.

The diamond, like all crystals, grow in three dimensional radial symmetry. The ancient Greek word krustallos refers to anything crystalized through freezing, such as ice, or perhaps, the snowflake.

And with the heart chakra we see the hexagram once again.

Now we see a resonance between the heart and a variety of things, both hex and pent.

The subtle body is generally conceived of as radiating from the heart. Indeed, when connecting the chakras with a spiral, it 'starts' with red, then white, continues with orange, purple, yellow, blue, and ends/begins with green, the heart. When one is deploying an aural "shield", or protective barrier, it is projected from one's center, or heart, and encompasses the body, usually in a sphere. Shields are often pentagonal in shape.

Heart symbol.

The heart is simultaneously defensive/protective and receptive/transmitive.

Badges and crests are styled after the shield.

The shield, badge, and crest are all symbols aligned with the solar plexus and heart.

The spine is our axis to this center. The pierced, or aligned, heart is depicted the world over, in many different ways, and is indicative of its place as any center, a center illustrated by axes: the cross, the hypercube, the cube of space, the ark, animal physiology, etcetera, etcetera.

The ark, a chest, containing that pulsing ruby.

It is said our hearts and our brains communicate constantly. It is even said that our hearts communicate with each others' hearts and minds, and s0 it is not surprising that the heart is looked upon as the throne of compassion and love.

The heart truly is the mind.

The Milk and the Blood

In this manifold dance we see partners, pairs, lovers uniting, coiled embraces.

The Red and the White is one such duo in the the grand ball.

The stripe, or checker, is a wonderful illustration of the dance-nature of this world.

Checkers and stripes suggest alternation and are thus representations of the wave.

The wave can also be seen as a very useful model of the active-dynamic principle of reality.

All emanates and absorbs all. This happens in great fractal wave-spirals of unfathomable complexity.

Here, the archetype becomes an appropriate classification tool and an invaluable sign-post.

The archetype in this context can be seen as a meta-event or symbol crux.

It represents an absolute, a nucleus, a node.

These are terminals of immense absorption and emission. Great octopi with radiating fractal arms. These great veins of mutual affection feed and tug at each other as the manifestation of this realm.

All things that resonate, that is, all things that are in any way related to, a particular archetype, can be seen as aligned to or emitted from that archetype.

It is hard to deny the evidence of a beautifully and absolutely interconnected universe, all things locally and non-locally connected... alas, all things are one substance: consciousness.

These tendrils then, reaching outwards, perhaps infinitely, appear to have their source in this one ultimate thing.

Manifest 'physical' reality has been described as the 'Great', or archetypal, Mother cast out from 'spirit' and is experienced as this very manifesting moment. This is readily observed when we consider that the word matter, in fact, means mother. She is birthing herself into existence, none can deny the force of her ecstatic and frenzied push.

A popular definition of a fractal: "a multi-leveled event that is self-similar on all levels". This also describes the hologram. We are confronting a reality that is both holographic and fractal in nature. Indeed, holograms and fractals are quite the same thing.

Here we see a mere one incarnation of this Great Mother: Mary, mother of Jesus.

We see her robed in stars. Jake Kotze at "The Blob", to whom I owe much inspiration, nominates the Great Mother, in all her incarnations, as the "representation" of the most central type of star itself; a black hole.

This great center, or black hole, is a clear resonator of that 'ultimate thing' or absolute center. Its sublime emanation is our very existence. This 'black hole' being the very same as the one that birthed each one of us.

The Milk flows forth.

Another image, the American flag, would seem identical in meaning.

Here we see our red and white stripes emanating from the star symbol.

We see the Great Mother's subtle body, or emanations. These are, at times, depicted in red and white.

What we have here is an image of a great center, the centermost star of our galaxy, emanating waves of alternating red and white, crest and trough.

We see the pattern repeat in terms of our own subtle bodies.

Notice our chakras, great centers of absorption and emission themselves, begin with red and end with white. Also our nadis, ida and pingala, are participating in this dance.

Other items expressing this theme are the candy cane and the barber pole. Note that the cane, pole, and staff are symbols for the spinal column.

Our heart also strongly resonates the Great Mother and black hole, as it is a very vital center.

The heart of Mother is pierced. In terms of galactic center, this has been termed the "dragon axis". Here the penetrating sword, aside from the sexual connotation, represents an axis. This is also shown in the image of the crucifixion, making this axis quite apparent.

We now have Mother, or the engine of manifestation, suspended and crucified in the cube of space, emitting waves of What Is. And we, as her son, are emulating her event on our very own level. Enter Jesus Christ.
